Alex Collopy Rosenwald, Ph.D., CSW, is a psychotherapist providing play and talk therapies for individuals age 3+, families, and couples. As a psychoanalytically- trained expert in child development, she understands the ways in which our earliest relationships consciously and unconsciously shape our experiences across the lifespan. In therapy, Alex supports clients in understanding and experiencing themselves, their relationships, and worlds in new ways.
Alex is not currently accepting new clients, and anticipates openings for new clients in November 2026.
Prior to becoming a Certified Social Worker and psychotherapist, Alex spent ten years doing ethnographic research and teaching courses in child development, education, and psychoanalysis across Penn State, Weber State, and the University of Utah. She was the recipient of the 2021 American Educational Research Association’s (AERA) Critical Perspectives in Early Childhood Education Dissertation Award, and is the editor and author of three chapters in Contemporary Psychoanalytic Approaches to Early Childhood Education. She is a member of the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work, the Association for Play Therapy, the Association of Jewish Psychologists, and the Washington- Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis.
